Just wondering, who here is still a JW? x

I fall in line with much of what stillin said. The only exception is commenting. Since I stopped over 2 years ago, I haven't tried again.
I miss a lot of meetings but do attend when I can in support of my wife.
So far, nothing said currently by the WTS has convinced me to retrace my steps.

Betrayal
by breakfast of champions inso far when i have seen the word 'betrayal' or 'betrayed' on these boards, it's in reference to how we feel betrayed by the watchtower society, family, or individuals within the organization.
we all understand this feeling well.
i can relate to many of the sentiments expressed.. but the other night with my therapist, towards the very end of the session, the word 'betrayal' came up in reference to myself.. the therapist noted that i seemed to be 'holding back' with her.

WOW BOC! That was an excellent point to share. I'd like to read that book now.
While I don't deal with the guilt factor anymore directly/outwardly, I find the betrayal feeling to be an indirect way of saying at times I still feel guilty. Long time "friends" share their thoughts about something JW related and at times inside I feel I've betrayed them. I'm listening to what they are saying but I just don't believe most of it anymore. So my not being able to relate to them at times makes me feel guilty. Thus far I calm my inner feelings by reminding myself that I didn't arrive at my current thoughts and feelings over night. It took countless hours of sometimes painful research that still hasn't ended. And that brings me tremendous comfort.
Therapy has helped me to stop ,when facing an irrational emotion on my part, and think rationally. With that I've found myself much calmer with my new beliefs and feelings.
My next hurdle is really believing my JW wife supports me no matter what, since I know the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society feeds her different info. She has been very supportive, and she regularly reminds me of how she feels about me despite my changes. I just find it hard to believe it all because of the Society's influence. I'm working on that.
We'll see what the future holds. Regardless, I wish you the best in the struggle, truly.

i don't know if these letters were posted here before , so i'm sorry if is something that all of you have seen already..

diamondiiz does bring up a valid point that went totally over my head. Where is the Watchtower letterhead?
I know it may not matter to some people, but it is something that always seems to be in the Society's letters, and thus adds to the validity.

I wanted to add, with these letters, I just can't see how the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is trying to weasel their way out of this court case.
They are providing direction and saying what to do based on a book they published!
Thanks for posting wolfman85!

For those that can't see the whole letter because of the size, go up all the way to the right hand corner of the JWN page, as if you were logging in. Just under your username there should be a box with two arrows pointing left and right.
Click on that and it will expand the JWN thread to widescreen view.
If you want to do undo widescreen view, click the box with two lines going up and down.
It worked for me.
